A yard to escape and entertain

The client wanted a backyard oasis that would serve both as a place to relax and decompress from a high-pressure career as well as frequently entertain friends and colleagues and play with the dogs. The existing gazebo was relocated to accommodate the custom gunite pool and the existing pergola at the rear of the house was modified to allow for the removal of several columns, opening up the view of the back yard. Hardscaping included a new driveway, a large bluestone terrace and pool deck with multiple seating, entertaining and dining areas, bluestone and flagstone walkways, and a custom fieldstone fireplace and seating wall. Other custom features included cedar fencing, a cedar outdoor shower enclosure, hand cut bluestone drain covers and one-of-a-kind, concrete planters. The lush gardens provided privacy from large evergreen plantings, a touch of formality in the clipped, linear boxwood hedges, and season long color from ornamental trees, shrubs and perennials gardens.
